This past gray Saturday, the Broodjes & Bier team arrived at Compass Coffee to introduce unsuspecting coffee aficionados to four of our heavy hitters available at the café—the Caprese, New Amsterdam, Zalm BLT, and—the ever popular—Vondel Park.
Compass proved a fantastic venue for sharing our morsels and mission. Their large space, entrepreneurial vibe, and coterie of interesting and interested customers made the trip a great experience. We met inventors, writers, startup founders, foodies, and researchers—it’s good to be in DC.
While working hard in the kitchen is fun and rewarding in its own right, we don’t often get to personally deliver the sense of warmth and welcoming that is the Broodjes sandwich experience. Explaining our product and philosophy to new ears and repeatedly hearing, “Wow, this is actually really good,” is a reward in itself.
